Changelog

Everything we shipped,and when.

Two people write this page and they write it the week the code ships. If something broke and we fixed it, it is in here with its own line.

v2.4.0 21 August 2026

Campaigns that move together

The biggest structural change since the board itself. Posts can now belong to a campaign, and a campaign has a shape — a start, an end, and a set of channels. Drag the campaign and every post inside it keeps its spacing.

  • New

Campaigns. Group posts under a launch, a season or a client retainer. Shifting the campaign shifts all eleven posts and keeps the gaps between them.

  • New

Campaign health strip. A one-line read on whether a campaign is going to land: posts drafted, posts approved, days left.

  • Improved

Board filters are now stackable. Channel plus owner plus campaign, and the combination lives in the URL so you can send it to someone.

  • Fixed

Dragging a card onto a collapsed column dropped it into the column above. It no longer does.

v2.3.1 30 July 2026

A quiet week of paying off debt

No new surface. We spent the sprint on the three complaints that showed up most often in support: slow boards over 400 posts, timezone drift on scheduled posts, and the export that silently skipped attachments.

  • Improved

Boards over 400 posts render about 6× faster. We now virtualise the columns instead of drawing every card. The 1,200-post board that took nine seconds takes just over one.

  • Fixed

Posts scheduled in a different timezone to the workspace could shift by an hour across a DST boundary. All future scheduled times were re-anchored; nothing needs doing on your side.

  • Fixed

CSV export skipped attachments larger than 20 MB without saying so. It now includes them and tells you the zip is being built.

  • Improved

Keyboard focus rings on the board are visible again in high-contrast mode.

v2.3.0 2 July 2026

Client links you can send on a Friday

A read-only calendar link that shows the month without giving anyone an account, an edit button or the ability to see your internal notes.

  • New

Read-only calendar links. Share a month, a campaign or a single channel. Set an expiry date or revoke it from the sharing panel.

  • New

ICS feed. Subscribe to your Plotline calendar from Google Calendar, Outlook or Fantastical. Updates every 15 minutes.

  • New

Internal notes. Anything in a note block is hidden from read-only links, so you can keep “ask Dara whether legal signed this off” on the card.

  • Improved

The month view now prints on one A4 page in landscape. People kept asking. We kept saying no. We were wrong.

v2.2.0 28 May 2026

The nudge

Most late posts are not blocked on writing. They are blocked on one person who has not opened the tab. So Plotline now goes and gets them.

  • New

24-hour nudge. An approver who has not responded in a day gets one reminder with the draft in the email body. Not a link. The draft.

  • New

Escalation to the campaign owner at 48 hours, with a one-click reassign.

  • Improved

Review rounds are numbered and collapsible, so a post on round four does not become a wall of text.

  • Fixed

Approving from the email digest occasionally approved the post above it. This was as bad as it sounds; it is fixed and we wrote to the eleven workspaces affected.

v2.1.2 16 April 2026

Small things, all week

A collection of the papercuts our own team kept hitting while planning our own calendar in Plotline.

  • Improved

Paste a block of rows from Sheets straight onto the board and Plotline maps the columns, showing you the result before it commits.

  • Improved

Duplicating a post now offers “same day next week” and “same slot next month” instead of dropping it on today.

  • Fixed

Emoji in post titles broke the CSV export on Windows. They no longer do.

  • Fixed

The mobile board scrolled horizontally behind the bottom bar on iOS Safari.

v2.1.0 12 March 2026

Channel-aware slots

Your newsletter goes out Wednesday at nine. Plotline now knows that, and stops you quietly stacking three things on the same morning.

  • New

Publishing slots per channel. Define the hours each channel actually posts; new posts snap to the next open slot.

  • New

Collision warnings. A soft warning when two posts land within 90 minutes on the same channel — dismissable, never blocking.

  • Improved

Version history is now unlimited on Studio and Agency, up from 12 months.

  • Improved

Avatar initials now use the person's preferred name rather than their login email.

v2.0.0 29 January 2026

Plotline 2.0 — one board, three views

We rebuilt the data model so a post is one object no matter which view you are looking at. Board, calendar and review queue are now genuinely the same posts, not three lists that occasionally agree.

  • New

Review queue. Everything assigned to you, in one place, with the approve button on the row.

  • New

Anchored comments. Select a line in a draft and comment on that line. The comment moves with the text when it is edited.

  • New

Scheduled is a locked state. A post cannot reach Scheduled without a named approver. This is the opinion the product is built around.

  • Improved

Everything is roughly 2× faster and about 40% smaller to download. The old board bundle was 1.1 MB; it is now 640 kB.

  • Fixed

Drag-and-drop on trackpads with inertial scrolling occasionally dropped cards two columns over.

v1.4.0 4 December 2025

Import, and stop apologising to your spreadsheet

Nobody starts from an empty calendar. The first job of the product is to get your existing one out of a spreadsheet without losing the bits that matter.

  • New

CSV import with column mapping for date, channel, owner and status, plus a preview before anything is written.

  • New

Google Sheets import — paste a share link and pick the tab.

  • Improved

Empty states now suggest importing rather than sitting there being beautiful and useless.

v1.0.0 6 November 2025

The first public board

Fourteen months of using it ourselves, then eight weeks of forty teams using it badly and telling us why. This is where the version numbers start.

  • New

Board and calendar views with drag-and-drop scheduling.

  • New

Drafts with version history and per-post channel tagging.

  • New

Workspaces and roles — editor, approver, viewer. Only editors are billable, and that has not changed since.

Older releases are in the in-app changelog under Settings → About. We keep every one of them.
